MOHL

The Multiple Organization House League (MOHL) originated as a conceptual idea many years ago by Paul Dennis, a Cheektowaga board member. Paul believed that house leagues from the various organization who did not have multiple teams at each level could work together in a cooperative spirit to enhance the ice hockey experience for house league players while continually striving to develop hockey players thus making their house league experience fun and rewarding. Statistics were de-emphasized, standings were not kept and organization teams had the flexibility to schedule as many or as few games as they desired to keep with the proper practice to game ratio and their player development initiatives.

Over the years the MOHL league has grown at all levels eventually leading to the Midget MOHL that offered teams  more structure with full standings, playoffs and championship games. Those that kept the MOHL constant should be commended. Today, the WNYAHL is proud that the Midget MOHL is back under the jurisdiction of the league with 25 teams. The league hopes that under the direction of the WNYAHL it will thrive and remain true to the original principles of keeping the game in perspective and making the game more fun and rewarding for all.
